Ravaged On The Riverbank

I might of known that Neale knew very well that there were going to be and I quote ' unseasonably gale force winds I was woken during the night by numerous crashes and bangs outside and the wind was absolutely howling around the house. Not to worry said Neale! When we got to Rhuddlan and parked up in Selwyn's field everyone else was being blown around the car park like empty chip papers.....This was the first time that I have done the riverbank run and I wasn't at all disappointed by the amount of runners that had turned out. Neale had put in a late entry earlier in the week following the improvement in my injury. I made no promises other than that i would have an enjoyable run out to strengthen my hip and if I made it to the end without too much pain then that would be a bonus. I was very pleasantly surprised and despite the wind I was over the moon to come in second. In the club house afterwards, all of the North Wales road runners were very supportive and it gave me a great deal of confidence to carry on and persevere....so that's what i am going to do. I am going to try and get out in the mornings this week and gradually build up my stamina again. But, one step at a time.....Ps thanks to Ritchie for his support.
