Well, here it was, the first race I ever did back in 2005 when I first got forced into running by my so called friends. Unfortunately, I was injured last year so I couldn't compete at Ras Fawr LLanddoged so the pressure was on this time around.
I've been dreading this one for a couple of months and knew that people would be watching, especially after one of the organisers sent me a note to say that I would need to better the V35 record time.
It was quite a small field and despite the somewhat blustery conditions I felt quite good. I managed to get up the 'killer' hill quite well and really settled into my stride working with Dave Pryce (Eryri) and Justin McIlveen (Abergele). The wind really was against us on the top road and I was glad to turn off onto the down hill section. One of these days I'll learn how to run down a hill properly as it really is the weak link in my technique....any way I crossed the line in 51mins 06 secs 1st Lady and shaving 3minutes and 12 secs off the previous ladies course record...I was over the moon.
The race was won by Darren Blazier (Abergele) and he was followed closely by Simon Shiels (Abergele)....
Now all I have to do is go out with Neale and the Carneddau Triathlon lot to the Rhos Fynnach tonight for a few lemonades!!!!! LLanddoged 0 Tammy 1..........
