Sorry guys, I can't apologise enough again for my lack of content on here over the past three months but so much has been going on with things that I really haven't found the time. But hey-ho I'm here now and hope to catch up a little with my friends all over the world. Having donned the Welsh vest again, an achievement of which I never tire, my fellow team mates and I have a reasonable trip ( about 8 hours) up to Aonach Mor where following a pretty basic night in a hostel we were rewarded with simply breathtaking scenery in the mountains around Ben Nevis. I had been secretly nursing an injury which more recently been diagnosed as yet another stress fracture, but I just couldn't relinquish my grip on nor ever tire of wearing. The course was relatively short as it had been cut due to the bad weather on the summit so I was a little disappointed that I was unable to show my mettle and climb all of the way to the top. Despite this I enjoyed the race but the journey home was very, long. Following the race, I attempted to continue with my training for the Snowdonia marathon, but it became blatantly obvious that the injury was much more severe than initially diagnosed. With some degree of regret and upset, I returned to the gym where I have remained for the last six weeks. Probably, the most significant change in my life at the moment was my introduction to university life at Bangor, where, I am studying for a BSc in sports science for the next three years. Despite my reservations, I am both enjoying and enduring it. With no formal academic qualifications, I felt that I may have been asking a little much, but now, with the first semester pretty much out of the way, I find myself strangely compelled to the challenge. Having met many, new friends and immersing myself in university culture I feel as if I am being challenged in a completely new vain and I am so glad that my running will also benefit from the course that I am undertaking. So what next? Really, just trying to regain my fitness, I have decided to cut down on mileage and instead concentrate on additional gym work with higher intensity so all we can hope is that it will prove fruitful! Anyways, that's it for now...see you soon!
