I suppose that some people would describe it as utter madness, another race taking in the summit of Snowdon, but at least this time the race was only to the top! I refer to last Sunday's world trial, a focus race for me to establish whether or not my friends and family's faith in my ability was vindicated. The trial saw the best in the UK competing for places in the Great Britain team for the world uphill only mountain running trials to be held in Slovenia next month and all of the home nations were well represented. I enjoyed probably one of the hardest races of my career which saw me reach the top as 1st Welsh competitor and 8th overall. I was extremely pleased to be ahead of fellow Eryri runners Jenny Hemming and Andrea Roberts, both of whom were regular members of the Welsh squad. My result saw me gain selection for the Wales team and I was overjoyed.
Another triumph at the event was fellow Eryri runner Rob Samuel, who came home in 4th place and won a deserved and highly coveted Great Britain vest. All in all it was a very productive day!
