A trip to Bethesda to go for a run and meet up with my coach Andy at Bethesda, wasn't quite as straight forward as I expected. Neale came along for the ride and managed a run on his own, a shorter version of the route that Andy had decided on up the Nant Francon valley. To say that it was windy would be an understatement. I'm not just talking about the wind through the valley but also that that seems to emanate un-controllably from my running partner's various orifices!
We managed a brisk hilly 9 miller and the conversation quite quickly turned to my new training regime for the autumn and ultimately the commencement of the marathon programme for London. It was a little scary really, with Andy seeming to get that little bit more serious...with comments about diet, hydration, course awareness and the like...spooky. I must admit that I am well looking forward to it really, the idea of the increased mileage and the longer distances appeals to me. We are even getting input from Andy's friend and 2hr 15min marathon runner Duncan Mason. It sounds as if I'm getting a bit serious....wow, this isn't the Tammy I know.....
