How many times have I sat down and decided to update the blog this year......not many I'm afraid. All that I seem to do, is promise that I will keep it updated and then forget to do so. I'm afraid that my blog has become the victim of Facebook. It is so easy to update and catch up with a single sentence, so the result is everso affecting the blog. Anyway, not to worry, I'm here now and we've lots to catch up on.
Since, we last blogged, I 've been managing to train, longer and harder without injury and I've managed to adhere to the regime that my coach (Andy Walling) has set for me. The sessions at Treborth, with the Menai Track and Field guy's have worked wonders for me, and although hard they give good speed. I try to get out with Andy at least once every week and as a talented runner himself, he manages to ensure that the sessions that we do are hard. We tend to get at least an hour every Sunday and the fact that we do them around Snowdonia helps enormously.
I've stayed away from racing pretty much but having said that , I have had a win and a few good results. I really don't want to get back to racing every week and instead concentrate on the main focus for this year which is the Llyn Vrynwy half marathon in September. We also have the Masters 10km championships at Magor marsh in the middle of July. Save for the odd race here and there that will pretty much be it for the whole year. Then the focus of attention will be the Flora London Marathon in April next year. Now that really is a focus. Whether it is the right distance for me, we'll never know until I do it. The thought is daunting but the desire to do it is greater.
