Neale and I thought that we'd use my blog to pay tribute to our good friend and fellow rally addict Carl Poscha, who tragically took his own life yesterday (Monday 7 th April). Both Neale and I genuinely have only good thoughts of a guy who epitomised the 1980's....It would be so easy to criticise the events of the past 24 hours but it really wont bring Carl back. Neale had so many telephone calls about Carl, showing the full extent of the friendships that he had formed throughout North Wales and indeed the UK through his participation in the rally scene.
Everyone will no doubt remember Carl's pre-race strategy of calling his competitors before a rally and winding them up. Everyone will also remember the hair brush that Carl always carried in the door pocket of his rally car. Everyone will definitely remember, the fun, the piss taking, the larger than life character that was 'Poscha'.
It is a tragic, tragic loss to all of us that knew him. Many grew up with Carl especially Ray Hotty his long term navigator, others such as Rob Jones, Richard Evans, Gareth Turgoose to name a few will have only positive thoughts of a man I personally would consider a great friend. I will never forget the laughs that we had over the past 14 years and especially Carl's ill-fated foray into a World Rally Championship in Finland, that left Carl penniless, and car-less after only five stages! It is a memory Neale and I will treasure for the rest of our lives.
North Wales will be a sadder place for Poscha's passing.....but the memory of him will live on with every Roland Young truck that we see trundling along the the A55. It will be such a shame though that Poscha wont be behind the wheel, phone to his ear and steering with his knees! God Bless you Carl, we'll never forget you mate. We only hope that God has a tanning salon in heaven!!!!!!!

I was phoned by my brother with the terribly sad news about Carl. I am still in shock. Carl and Andre i grew up with, i knew his mum and dad, his dad had the building next to us in Abergele where i worked on the local milkround as a kid in the summer hols.I remember watching Carl in his old MK2 going around the orme, i still have all the photos (have been looking at them today) and i remember him as someone who if he saw me would always take the p##s but it was like i had only seen him the day before even if it had me months since our last meeting. The news my brother gave me is struggling to sink in, i will never meet him again!! Carl was a friend, had a shit hairstyle and the tanning booths must have cost a fortune, but he got off his arse and did a WRC event...how many of us can say that. I will miss him, truely a nice guy, a good friend and bloody maniac in a rallycar.
You have no idea Carl how many peoples lives you have affected, in life and now with your passing. For me a very very sad day

Having been away from the rallying scene for a couple of years now, it was with great sadness that i learned today that posca the poser had died. He was a good laugh, and used to brighten up an otherwise dull day in motorworl when he used to call. He was nuts in a car, as everyone who knew him can testify.
My condolences go to his family, but all his friends will only smile when they remember him.
It is a sad loss to the world, they say that only the good die young, & this is proof.
