This Is The Week That Was...

Had a really nice week this week following Chichester. I even took Neale's advice and decided to have a couple of morning's off. I finally decided to pull my entry on the Cardiff half marathon also and decided to opt for the cross country at Park hall instead today. Additionally, I had a phone call from Arwel (Lewis Eryri Harriers) asking if I would like to run for them in the border league at Prestatyn on the Sunday. I felt quite good and as I was having a good restful week then this wouldn't pose too much of a problem.

Had to rush to get to Stoke on Trent as we were in Cardiff last night for Neale's sister's 40th birthday party. We left at 11-15 for te race at 2pm and manged to get there with half an hour to spare. Leanne (Emberton) was also there from North Wales Road Runners, although like me, she had been asked to run for Colwyn Bay. It was a great single lap 5k course with plenty of hill work and I was pleased to find myself towards the front quite early on. I managed a 4th which I was very pleased with and Leanne managed 26th which was even more of an achievement for her as she managed to come home 2nnd Colwyn Bay. Bearing in mind she is still only 16 that result was very very good when you consider she was running in the senior ladies race having decided against competing in the juniors! Im enjoing the x.c. series alot and the experience is growing. Im even looking forward to Lilleshalll next week...
