I was a little upset today to receive a call from Russell (Colwyn Bay athletic club) to tell me that I had to resign from North Wales Road Runners if I wanted to continue to score points from Colwyn Bay in the cross country leagues. It all stems from my transfer earlier this year to NWRR from Colwyn Bay and the procedures needed to do so. We had been told by the hierarchy in Welsh Athletics that I would have to resign from Colwyn Bay and (subject to approval) by the club the transfer could take place and I would adopt them as second claim club and NWRR as my main club. Following my participation in the North Staffs cross country on the weekend my result had been spotted and someone mentioned that I should not be scoring points for Colwyn Bay...To cut a long story short (too late!) its all politically a pain in the posterior as all I want to do is enjoy my running and keep everyone happy. God knows what they'll say when they establish that I ran the border league for Eryri on Sunday!!!!!!!
