A telephone call from Mud, Sweat and Tears website editor Matt Ward was a little un-expected and also welcomed when I asked if it would be possible for me to do some promotional shots for the Commonwealth Ultra championships. When I replied that I wasn't confirmed, he replied by saying that Welsh Athletics senior manager Steve Brace had confirmed that I was!! What's going on......I didn't even know! So that's it then, with a place confirmed I thought great, lets go, so Monday last week saw me meet up with Matt and Ian Ridgway and we travelled to the beautiful Newbrough forest where the photo shoot was to take place. The location is just perfect and the weather on the day was glorious. To top things off, Matt had asked Neale to shoot the photo's so it was all in all a great day for us both. With almost 600 frames in the bag and a tan to take home, a great time was had by all and we finished the day with lunch courtesy of Matt! As an after thought, Neale and I took the VW down to Oxfordshire to compete in the Adderbury half marathon and the journey was worth it and I came home with 3rd overall and 1st wrinkly! Good times.
