Flippin 'eck...............

With all that has been happening over the past couple of months, I was a little concerned that the schedule had gone to pot and that I would need to forget about the trial race at the Forest of Dean next month. Indeed, even now, I am not 100% that I will be fully fit for the event. That said, out of the blue, I decided that I would get a long run in, to prepare for the 50k... Thursday saw the day dawn with clear skies and the prospect of temperatures in the mid 20's, so I donned the trainers and set out on my run from home. Nearly four hours and almost 30 miles later, I joined NeeNee, Caroline and Co at the cafe, with a great feeling of satisfaction running through my mind. I was absolutely knackered but at the same elated to have completed the run without major incident. During the run, I was joined for a couple of hours by Gary and this helped to break up the monotony. I fed well both during and after the run but despite the temperature, I didn't feel too dehydrated. I feel now that I have laid down a good base for next month's race and look forward to the taper in my training over the next two weeks.....
