I am so pleased with my recent recovery. It would appear that dropping the mileage really has helped, particularly when coupled with the morning sessions on the bike. It's all beginning to make sense now and I am accepting that the realisation of the fact that more miles really equates to more injury and less speed. That's not to say that increased mileage isn't always a bad thing, indeed I was reading Liz Yelling's blog last week. She has had four weeks of over 120 miles per week in the run up to the Olympic games in Beijing. However, we must also remember that this really is a temporary measure and such high mileages cannot be maintained indefinitely. I really am starting to focus my attention on the Welsh 10km championships at Caernarfon at the end of the month. I really think and hope that I will be fully fit. If I am, I will be giving it my all, I just hope that the girls from the south will be gracing the event with their presence. It would be nice to have a field that represents the standards of all of Wales and not just those that are from the immediate area. I think the fact that there is a guaranteed place in the Welsh team, due to travel to France in October, so lets just see. Well, that's it for today....back to the grindstone..
